Remove the inner deck lid liner and use a protective covering to protect the paint on the deck lid while dry-fitting the rear deck spoiler.

2. Use a grease pencil to mark two mounting holes per side, one 1-1/2 d from the rear edge and 3/4 d in from the side edge. The second hole 7 d from the rear edge and 1/2 d in from the side edge.

The center mounting screw will be 3-1/2 d forward from the top center of the rear brake light. 3. Center punch the hole locations and drill through the deck lid using a .125" dia.

(1/8") drill bit. Make sure you drill through both layers of metal on the center hole and use a 1 d holesaw from the inside on the inner layer of metal for proper screw access. 4.

Align the wing onto the deck lid, making sure it is perfectly centered from side to side and flush against the rear edge. Tape the wing in place ... more. less.

to pre- vent it from moving. 5.<br><br> Open the deck lid and mark the bottom of the wing through the mounting holes drilled in the deck lid using a grease pencil or awl or similar tool. 6. Remove the wing from the deck lid and drill through the marked hole loca- tions using a .094 d (3/32 d) drill bit set for a maximum depth of 1/4 d past the drill shank.<br><br> Enlarge the holes in the deck lid only to 3/16 d (.187 d) for additional screw clearance. 7. D/A wing with 360 dry or 400 wet sand paper.<br><br> Use a red scotch brite pad around all edges. Degrease wing and follow the paint man u fac tur er's rec- ommendations for painting this type of part. 8.<br><br> E&G recommends that all holes drilled in the trunk lid of the car be blown out to remove metal shavings and a good quality sealer be applied to pre- vent future rust problems. 9. Apply beads of silicone to the bottom of the wing where shown.<br><br> Align the mounting gaskets and the wing onto the car and install 3/8 d truss head screws into the front holes and 5/8 d truss head screws into the rear and center mounting holes. Press the wing firmly into place and finish tighten ing all truss head screws.
