tarpaulin or plastic sheet.

If the sheets do become wet in the packing, all packaging must be removed and the sheets must be wiped dry and placed in a way that they can totally dry. The sheets must be horizontally stacked on a flat surface. The sheets must always be sufficiently supported so that they do not sag.

Panels should be lifted singly, not slid, from their pile and be carried vertically by two persons. WORKING-EPO-ENG3/5 04/08/05 3. CUTTING All sheets can be cut in the same way as natural stone, except DURIPANEL, which should be treated as wood.

The table below gives a summary of the possible ways of cutting the different ETERNIT flat sheets. The sheet is then snapped downwards. WORKING-EPO-ENG4/5 04/08/05 Sheets must be sufficiently supported during cutting.

The working table must be very stable to avoid vibrations. If necessary the cut edges can be finished with fine emery cloth or a sanding block. In case of cutting with a scoring knife, edges should be smoothened with a plane with a tungsten carbide tipped knife.

For further information please contact E.P.O. 4. DRILLING All products should be drilled without percussion with a masonry drill bit.

DURIPANEL can also be drilled with drill bits for wooden materials. The sheet should be supported around the hole to be drilled (e.g. by a wooden board).

!!: Cutting and drilling must take place in a dry environment. All dust must be removed immediately from the sheet with a dry towel to avoid permanent stains. 5.

HEALTH & SAFETY ASPECTS Dust can be released while the sheets are being processed which can irritate airways and eyes. It is recommended that a dust mask and safety goggles be worn. Appropriate dust extraction or proper ventilation are to be provided depending on the room in which the work is being carried out or the equipment being used.

Long-term exposure to dust can be harmful to health.
