ft./ gallon SUITABLE SUBSTRATES Cold rolled steel, iron, long terne (lead coated), spangled and minimum spangled galvanized steel*, Galvaneal steel, or PAINT 3GRIP® 1 . *Note: With the inconsistencies of galvanized steel, consult your Martin-Senour representative for substrate testing and system recommendations. SURFACE PREPARATION (For the following products refer to label or product data page for complete information) 1.To remove dirt and water-soluble contaminants, wash with mild detergent and hot water.

Rinse well and wipe dry with a clean dry cloth. 2.To remove grease, oil, and other solvent soluble contaminants, solvent clean metal substrate with KLEANZ-EASY® Solvent Cleaner 6383 or KLEANZ-EASY II" Low VOC Surface Cleaner 6388. Wipe dry with a clean cloth.

3.Remove rust and oxidation by sanding or grinding. 4.Apply IRON-ETCH® 6878 to further remove rust or oxidation. 5.If metal is heavily rusted, pitted, or oxidized remove by sandblasting, to obtain a rust free white metal surface.

APPLICATION 1.Protect areas not to be treated with polyethylene sheets and masking tape.<br><br> Apply masking tape to seams into which solution may collect. Do not allow 6877 to enter seams or collect in areas that can not be properly rinsed and dried. 2.Apply 6877 to bare metal by brush, spray, gray nylon scuff pad , or dip.<br><br> Keep surface wet for one 3three minutes. If surface is allowed to dry, re-wet with 6877 for an additional one 3three min- utes. 3.Rinse well with clean water.<br><br> Water should curtain with no breaks or beading; if this occurs, repeat step 2. 4.Blow dry with clean, high pressure air. Note: Do not use TRIPLE ETCH® 6877 below 60°F.<br><br> RECOATING 1.Recoat with primer system within four hours of metal conditioner application. 2.Follow with a Martin Senour Automotive topcoat compatible with the primer system. NOTES 1.TRIPLE ETCH® 6877 contains acid.<br><br> Read and follow all label directions and cautions. Wear protective clothing, rubber gloves, and eyewear. 2.<br><br> Store in plastic containers only . Do not use metal containers. 3.Do not apply with steel wool.<br><br> Use nylon scuff pad when abrasive action is needed. 4.Protect TRIPLE ETCH® 6877 from freezing. 5.For maximum corrosion protection, TRIPLE ETCH® 6877 may be used as a pretreatment prior to spray- ing 8846 (only for chromate free 8846).<br><br> 6877 is best applied with a gray nylon scuff pad. 1 PAINT-GRIP® is a registered trademark of the ARMCO STEEL Corporation. Do not allow solution to dry, if it does re-apply. " When rinsing, water should curtain without breaks.<br><br> If this occurs, repeat application. " Rinse well with clean water.
