CENTRAL CITIES ATOM A 2010 LEAGUE PLAY OFF Revised: Feb 8, 2010 It should be noted that the team with the least penalty minutes during normal league play will receive a Most Sportsmanship Team Banner. There will be two divisions for play off 9s. The top 12 teams (play for Banner) and the bottom 3 teams will playoff.

1. Most League points. 2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie, 0 for a loss.

2. Most wins between tied teams. 3.

Most goals scored. 4. Least goals scored against.

5. Least penalty minutes Play off 9s to start on the Weekend of Feb. 19/10 and completed by March 21/10.

Two remaining teams play off. 2 game total goal if tie overtime as below Round 4 3 Championship Series Winners of round 3 Best of 3 all overtime as below Playoff Rules Round 1, 2 & 3 3 will be a two game series.<br><br> The series are two game total goals series. The Atom A will play 3 skaters on 3 skaters, sudden victory, if a playoff series is tied after 2 games. Teams are to be allowed a 2 minute break on the bench at the end of the third period, then they will send out a goalie and 3 skaters to play.<br><br> Once play has commenced, player substitutions can be made. Teams will start play with their goalie in the net closest to their bench. The clock will be set to 10 minutes to start the overtime period.<br><br> If still tied the ice surface will be cleaned and another 20 minute period will commence until a goal is scored. Penalties In the event a player from Team A is assessed a penalty, the penalized player will go to the penalty box and the other team, Team B, will send out a extra skater. Play will proceed as 4 on 3 for the duration of the penalty.<br><br> When the penalty expires, the penalized player can return to play and play will continue as 4 on 4. At the next stoppage in play, each team will revert to 3 skaters. In the event a team is assessed 2 penalties, the other team will put two extra skaters on the ice and play will resume as 5 on 3.<br><br> For coincidental penalties, play will continue as 3 on 3. The higher placing team of the regular season has choice of home ice. Games scheduled must be convenient and reasonable for both teams.<br><br> The League Director must be notified of the dates and times of the games before they are played. FINALS - Championship Series 3 will be a best of three game series. In the event of a tie in goals after the third period of any game there will be a three man sudden death shoot out.<br><br> If the game is still tied, then there will be single man sudden death shoot out. Note these will be new shooter until the complete team has shot. The higher placing team of the regular season has choice of home ice.<br><br> Games scheduled must be convenient and reasonable for both teams. League Director must be notified of the dates and times of the games before they are played. Round #1 to be complete by Feb 21.<br><br> Round #2 to be completed by Feb 27. Round #3 to be completed by March 7. Final Round to be complete by March 21.<br><br> Central Cities Bottom 3 Atom A Play Off Draw Round 1 The bottom three teams will play a home & away game between each team. Round 2 3 Championship Series Final Series 3 Most Points vs. 2 nd Most Points Round 1 3Games scheduled must be convenient and reasonable for both teams.<br><br> The Level Director must be notified of the dates and times of the games before they are played. The Championship Series will be determined by the following: 10 point for a win 5 point for a tie 2 points for a loss. The two teams with the most points will playoff in the Championship Series.<br><br> If there is a tie the team with the biggest goal differential (GF 3 GA) will proceed to the final round. Round 2 - Championship Series 3 Final Series will be a three game series.
