During the season of 2005, Holden was named the NWAACC Coach of the Year and the Eastern Region Coach of the Year after guiding the Hawks to a record of 26-6. In 2007, Holden 9s team finished 21-10 placing second in the East Region and seventh at the NWAACC Tournament.<br><br> During her six-year tenure, Holden has helped seven players move on to the four year level. Since arriving at CBC, Holden 9s teams have qualified for the playoffs twice after finishing fifth in the East Region during the 2003, 2004, and 2006 seasons. She has elevated the Women 9s Basketball program to new heights in her six years at CBC.<br><br> According to the Women 9s Basketball Coaches Association, the 2004-05 Hawks also ranked fifth in the nation among junior and com- munity colleges in 2005 with a 3.245 GPA. In 2006, the CBC 9s women achieved an even greater grade point average of 3.398. Holden came to CBC from West Valley High in Yakima.<br><br> She led the Rams to their first ever state championship in 2001. Her five-year record was 117-21 (.847 winning percentage) and ranks her among the best in Mid-Valley League history. Holden recently achieved a long-time goal of earning a Master Degree in Arts in Management at Antioch Universtiy-McGregor.<br><br> She also works as the Director for High School Programs at the college. ROLANDO GARCIA Assistant Coach BA Liberal Studies (Pre-Physical Therapy) Northwest Nazarene University Coach Garcia is entering his fifth season on Coach Hold- en 9s staff, serving as the Head Assistant Coach. Garcia offers a wealth of knowledge to the program.<br><br> Garcia primarily works with the guards, a position he played during high school and college. He led his team to the 1A State Championship at Grandview High before playing at CBC for two years. After winning an NWAACC Champion- ship at CBC, Garcia played at Northwest Nazarene under former CBC coach Ed Weidenbach where he was also named All-American Honorable Mention.<br><br> Coach Garcia is currently working on obtaining a Masters in Educational Administration from Washington State University. He works at CBC as the Title V Director. KACI HOBART Assistant Coach BA Psychology Central Washington Univer- sity Coach Hobart enters her first year as an assistant coach at CBC.<br><br> As a former player at CBC, she helped CBC win the 2005 NWAACC Championship earning the tourna- ment Most Valuable Player Award (see Kaci Bernsen). After the 2005 season, Hobart signed a Letter of Intent to play basketball at University of Great Falls. After a short stint at UGF, she transferred to Central Washing- ton University where she earned a BA in Psychology in 2006.<br><br> Shortly after graduation, Coach Hobart earned a license in Massage Therapy and now works as a Mas- sage Therapist at Eagle Lakes Lodge. Coach Hobart married her husband Keith, a former CBC baseball player, this past summer.
