1 HP data protector A.06.00 Network attached storage (NAS) support matrix Version: 5.2 Date: October 2010 Data Protector has comprehensive support for NAS devices. The two main categories of NAS devices supported by Data Protector are HP & non-HP. On the HP NAS devices Data Protector uses its native agents, which makes it the most efficient backup/recovery application for these devices, while on non-HP devices Data Protector supports the industry standard NDMP protocol.

Various Data Protector components are supported on HP NAS devices which are Windows based. Data Protector uses its native Windows agents for Backup/recovery of these devices. These agents can be remotely or locally installed on these devices.

The documentation for various Data Protector Windows agents applies to the supported Data Protector components on NAS devices.
