are available on a competitive basis to undergraduate Black students. Awards are up to $4,000 per student per year through selected and approved universities by PBS&J. Eligibility " Student must be a United States Citizen, or a permanent resident, who has completed at least 60 credit hours of college work prior to submission of this application and maintain a 2.5 grade point average, or better. Student must also be enrolled in college for the Fall and enrolled and in attendance through the Spring. "Applicant is expected to be attending an accredited college or university selected by PBS&J as a full-time, day-time student. Afull-time undergraduate student must be carrying a minimum of twelve credits. Student must be enrolled in programs eventually resulting in a baccalaureate degree. " Proof of financial need will be furnished by the Head of the Minority Program at the applicant 9s university. " Due to limited resources, PBS&J is unable to make awards to fully employed persons, practicing professionals, or others pursuing an education through extended day, night school, part-time, special week-end, or other non-traditional degree programs. New Application Period and Deadlines Before June 20 of each year. Selection PBS&J Scholarship candidates are recommended by participating universities for selection, then PBS&J managers/directors make final selection based on the following criteria: 1. Academic Achievement2. Financial Need 3. Personal Qualities and Strengths4. Letters of Recommendation Obligations " In the event I should not complete this semester, I acknowledge that it is my obligation to refund PBS&J for the scholarship award. Should my grade point average fall below a 2.5, I may not be eligible for the following term 9s scholarship. " I agree to grant PBS&J the right of first refusal for my services as either a summer intern or a full-time engineer upon graduation; however, I understand that the offer and acceptance of any scholarship does not constitute a guarantee of employment at PBS&J.
