She takes ordinary subjects and makes them seem magically cbathed in light. d She loves to paint a large variety of subject matter. Continuing the challenge with each new painting, she constantly works on her development as an artist.

Her frequent plein aire paintings gives her much pleasure because of her lifelong love of the outdoors, as well as sharpening her decision-making and observation skills at the same time. Cecy 9s work has been selected for numerous national exhibitions, including Oil Painters of America, Top 100 Artist for the Parks, American Artists Professional League Grand National Exhibitions, National Watercolor Society and National Oil and Acrylic Painter 9s Society. Her paintings have won awards in most of these competitions.

Cecy 9s work has been shown in numerous solo and group shows in the United States and Japan. The Anderson has the privilege of showing new works by artists who have dared to step outside their comfort zones to create funny, colorful, nostalgic, and creative pieces that jump right off the wall. Whatever lives in your memories of the 50 9s and 60 9s, we have it!

There are fine art pieces which rival the quality of the best anywhere in the country, pieces that are superb examples of what is variously referred to as cNaive Art, Outsider Art, or Primitive Art d, inexpensive and playful works, art that make you think, and works that go right to your heart. The gallery flower arrangement is being donated by Flo w e r s b y P att y , so, if you have occasion to order flowers, please support this neighborhood business that has supported us twice, now. Both the radio station and the daily light are publicizing our opening, and all the business 9 around the square are displaying our posters.

The Daily Light is even sending a reporter to the opening . If you 9ve never attended one of our openings, now would be a great time to start. Frankly, in the past, it has been a little embarrassing: it seems like the whole community supports and attends our openings, while the ECAA membership, with a few exceptions, are noticeably absent.

I hope you will help change that dynamic by turning out for this show, Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, 7:00 3 9:00 PM. Our next opening cLost Loves, Lost Dreams d will be February 2, 2008, 7:00 PM.

This is a versatile subject, fertile creative ground from which to draw inspiration. We 9ve all lost or misplaced something in the past: childhood friends, cars, goals, family and friends who have passed on. By making art on this subject we offer understanding to others who may still be in mourning for long ago losses.

With so much advanced notice, it ought to be a breathtaking show! We 9re changing this annual fundraiser a little this year and asking members, as well as the public, to donate ART that they no longer want or need (in addition to the usual garage sale items). This art can be originals or prints&.just nice framed items that someone could take home from our sale and hang on their wall!

Don 9t despair if you have art without a frame or a frame without art. Just bring what you have to the museum and we 9ll try to match things up! Three-dimensional items like sculpture and ceramics are welcome, too!

You can bring your items to the museum when you come to the September and/or October ECAA meetings or you can drop things by the museum at your convenience! If you have any questions or are interested in helping with the sale, call Priscilla at 972-937-8365. cOff the Wall d Sale and Annual Garage Sale October 12 & 13 In support of ECAA and exhibiting artists, I encourage all members, friends & neighbors to attend the Anderson opening, Art Rocks!

Jill Parr, the Gallery Director, has assembled a fun, hip, & groovy art show that is not to be missed!
