Non conformity or refusal to have a machine examined will result in exclusion from the meeting and the Clerk of the Course or the Stewards may impose other penalties in accordance with the ACU Sporting Code. The New Era Race Committee may also deduct points from the previous rounds and impose further penalties.

3. TYRES Except for the Formula 400 and Formula 600 classes which are required to use only moulded treaded tyres (including full wets), the choice of tyres will be with the rider. NUMBER PLATES BIG PROBLEMS occurred last season with riders having machines fitted with terrible numbers. (Another good reason for introducing Transponders).

The Timekeepers cannot identify these bikes and so the rider may be missed off the Results Sheets. The fact that Fairings these days seem to be designed to prevent decent numbers being fitted does not help either. However, in our Championships it is VERY IMPORTANT that your FRONT NUMBER at least complies fully with the regulations.

The plate must be clean and include a Superclub Series Sticker only. There must be a wide clear border between the individual numbers and all the edges of the plate. PLEASE help us to serve you by not bringing a bike to the meeting with a front number plate which does not comply.

For further info see pages 219/ 220 (Art.13.7) of your 2006 ACU Handbook PLEASE note that the MINIMUM DIMENSION of the plate must be 235mm high by 285mm wide. Note: The transponder signal will not pass through metal or carbon fibre based plastics. 8.Push the 'R' clip right through as far as possible in order to prevent it being accidentally pushed out.

Lockwiring the prongs of the 'R' clip is recommended. 9.The transponder must be fitted whenever your vehicle is on the course, including free and timed practice sessions. 10.The transponder must be charged and 'flashing' green when it is presented for scrutineering.

When fully charged the green light will flash three times. Remember: Three green flashes indicates that the transponder will function for approximately three days. Two green flashes indicates two days.

11.Transponders are best charged on the mains (usually for at least 14 hours). It is not advisable to use a car cigarette lighter socket, and generators are often totally ineffective.
