The Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) rechargeable battery pack is supplied with the radio or they may prefer to use six AA alkaline batteries. In addition, the unit includes weather alert, to warn against impending storms, memory channel scan, 16/9/triple watch mode, and a speaker microphone jack to be used with an optional speaker microphone. The unit is one watt/five watt selectable, which allows for extra transmitting power.
