I was at a convention in Salt Lake City dur- ing the summer of 2000. I ac- cidentally bumped into Marlene Grauwels from Wisconsin, chat- ted brieRy and exchanged busi- ness cards with her.<br><br> When I saw cChi Machine d on her card, I was deQnitely curious. As a his- tory teacher, I knew cChi d meant cenergy d in Chinese and asked Marlene to tell me more. When I heard it improved circulation, I said, cOrder me one. d I have had poor circulation in my lower legs and feet my whole life.<br><br> It didn 9t stop me from par- ticipation in every activity pos- sible growing up and becoming an avid walker as an adult. But I always had achy legs, cold feet and purplish toes throughout my 24 years of teaching. She was also diagnosed with diabe- tes. She couldn 9t drive and be- came dependent on others for just about everything.<br><br> My sister Chandler became her primary caregiver. The week after I got my Chi Machine, I brought it to our fam- ily vacation at Gulf Shores, Ala- bama. We put Mama on the Chi Machine for one minute the Qrst day and for a minute and a half the next.<br><br> The second day she took a walk down to the beach! It was incredible!
