Pesticide Management Division Orchard Pesticide Use Restriction Information Technical Assistance Bulletin March 2002 P.O. Box 42589, Olympia, WA 98504 Issue: Several currently used orchard pesticides have label statements that restrict their use near water. These restrictions are legal requirements that must be followed.
This technical assistance bulletin is being distributed to inform applicators of thes e restrictions, and to prevent pesticides from getting into water. Examples of Specific Label Restrictions: Data obtained from WSDA 9s 2002 state registered pesticide labels and Washington State University 9s (WSU) Tree Fruit Crop Protection Guide. Active ingredient Product Specific statements Abamectin Agri-Mek Do not apply Agri-Mek 0.15 EC when weather conditions favor drift to aquatic areas.
Do not apply within 110 ft. upwind of aquatic areas or when wind speed is above 8 mph. Clofentezine Apollo 50SC Do not apply within 100 feet of lakes, reservoirs, rivers, permanent streams, marshes, natural ponds, estuaries, and commercial fish farms.
Cyprodinil Vangard WG Do not apply within 75 ft. of bodies of water such as lakes, reservoirs, rivers, permanent streams, natural ponds, marshes or estuaries. For all plantings within 150 ft.
