NEW OLD Dodge Truck Adapter Harness The Problem: Several fuel pump assembly applications for 1996-1997 Dodge trucks contain an adapter harness to plug into the original vehicle wiring harness. The adapter harness on the replacement fuel pump assembly has a 4-pin connector, which differs from the 6-pin connector on the original fuel pump assembly. The Solution: The original fuel pump assembly unit only uses 4 of the 6 pins in the connector.

The vehicle harness, though containing 6 pins, only uses 4. " The OE vehicle harness mates with the replacement unit adapter plug. " Though they differ in appearance, the mating connectors are correct and perform to the OE specification.
