This special week will add a stepping-stone on your journey of life.

If you allow the week to, it will; increase your self awareness, inspire you, motivate you, and allow you to walk away from this occasion with memories and friendships that can last a life time. Remember that only one girl will leave with the crown atop her cowboy hat, even though all of you are worthy. Whether you win or you lose leave the pageant with your head held high and a smile on your face because your communities, friends, and family have enthusiastically supported you and your love for rodeo.

The true reward is the journey you travel not the destination. I joined The Teton County Queen, Erin Heffron, and her lady in waiting, Desiree Bridges, for the parade through down town Jackson. That evening I got to experience what the town 9s famous motto cThe Last of the Real West d was all about with their weekly rodeos.

June was full of competitions! The month kicked off with The Little Miss Wyoming Pageant in Rock Springs. With about 90 girls competing it was a great pageant!

These girls had their work cut out for them with various events included: talent, interviewing, modeling (casual and party dresses), and a dance to finish it off! Judging the contest with me were many beauty pageant winners such as: Mrs. Wyoming Galaxy Diane Bertagnole; Miss Wyoming Galaxy, Krystle Dorris; Miss Wyoming USA, Cynthia Pate; Miss Teen Wyoming USA, Amy David; and Mrs.

Wyoming United States Holley. We had a great time discussing the different ideas/beliefs we represent with our various titles. Next, was Nebraska Land Days hosting the 54 th Miss Rodeo Nebraska Pageant in North Platte!

It was a welcoming site finding my host house with a sign reading c Home of Miss Rodeo Wyoming d in the front lawn. Outside my front door there was a beautiful beach and a pond complete with a pet (Bass) fish that ate worms out of your hand! Miss Rodeo Colorado, Audra Dobbs and I had a wonderful stay, complements of Cathy and Buck Ewing.

One of the many highlights of our stay was the opportunity to participate in the fashion show. With twenty girls parading around the room to Johnny Cash singing 8I 9ve Been Everywhere 9 all decked out in chaps it sure was a show! For a special treat we had a complementary tour of the Bailey Railroad Yard.

Did you know that this yard is recognized in the Guinness Book of Records as the word 9s LARGEST rail yard with an average of 155 trains and 3,000 cars per day? So as you can image we had a lot to look at! 5 - Allie 9s Road Report - Allie driving an airboat Little Miss Wyoming Pageant 4Outgoing Royalty Little Miss Wyoming Pageant Judges Miss Rodeo Wyoming 4Allie Bass Mrs Wyoming United States 4Holley Miss Wyoming USA 4Cynthia Pate 2nd row - Miss Wyoming Galaxy 4Krystle Dorris Miss Teen Wyoming USA 4Amy David Mrs.

Wyoming Galaxy 4Diane Bertagnole From frequent tornado warnings, kids parades, Bailey Yard, shopping, rodeo, numerous autograph signings, and the pageant we never experienced a dull moment. Our last day there we all got to witness Michelle Boeshart proudly accept the crown for Miss Rodeo Nebraska 2010. My next destination was the familiar town of Douglas, for the Wyoming High School Queen Pageant.

With the High School Finals taking place at the same time the town was a flurry of activity. I got the chance to judge with fellow MRWA members Pam Rivers and Suzanne Stewart. It was a two-day contest with three competitors seeking the title.

I left Douglas and headed straight for Riverton to serve as a state official for the State 4-H Horse Judging Contest. This was truly an honor for me, to be asked to officiate, as I won this contest as a senior in high school and got to travel to Denver for the national competition. I was privileged to be along the side of: Gary Grub, George Howard (UW Rodeo Coach), and Will Golden(LCCC Horse Judging Coach).

There were a total of seventy-two 4-Her 9s entered in the contest. Cowboy Christmas found me at the cRodeo Capitol of the World d in Cody, Wyoming for the 90 th anniversary of the Buffalo Bill Cody Stampede. The east gateway to Yellowstone is truly beautiful scenery.

Joining me were: Miss Rodeo America, Maegan Riddley; Miss Rodeo Virgina, Charla Wacker; Miss Rodeo Montana, Lesi Furniss; Miss Teen Rodeo Idaho, Allie Bohus; Miss Rodeo Teton Coutny, Erin Heffron; Miss Rodeo Weston County, Shawna Prauner; Miss Cody Night Rodeo, Lacey Strueb; and Miss Cody Stampede, Emily Delyea. Ike Sankey produced an excellent 4 th of July rodeo, one of many participating in the Million Dollar Tour. Not only did we participate in the many rodeo performances, but we also got special treats of: white water rafting (chilly water!!), a trolley ride, shopping opportunities, autograph signings, parades, radio interviews, TV interviews, and driving an oversized Dune Buggy for the Extreme Bulls grand entry!

Cody is also home of 6 - Allie 9s Road Report - Nebraska Land Days 4Signing Autographs Miss Rodeo New Mexico 4Brooklyn Chester Miss Rodeo Washington 4Nicole Ray Miss Rodeo Idaho 4Freya Ford Welcoming sign outside the host home of Buck & Cathy Ewing. the famous Cody Night Rodeo with performances EVERY single night from June 1st to August 31 st . Also, Judy and Larry Allshouse who provided tremendous horses to ride all week, thank you. Directly, after Cody I was on the road to Central Wyoming 9s Fair and Rodeo in Casper for the cLegends of Wyoming Parade d held the morning of June 9 th .

It was an exceptional parade that wound its way through numerous blocks of downtown! Record setting entry numbers, sunny weather, and the Budweiser Clydesdales (back for the first time in 11 years) generated a heck of a turn out! I am thankful to Joel Alworth for generously providing me with a horse for the occasion.

Next Stop 4my hometown Sheridan WYO Rodeo. This is an exciting time for me, as last year I represented this community as Miss Sheridan WYO Rodeo Queen 808. She weighed 7 pounds 11 oz and was 19 ¼ inches long. Her introduction into this world was breathtaking in more than one way and her experiences covered a numbe r of firsts (first airplane ride, first trip to the big city&).

Labor was induced early on July 1 st and after a long 2 days Taylor was diagnosed with pneumothorax at birth (a collection of air between the lung and the chest wall that develops when air leaks out of the lung-bas ically a collapsed lung). If nearly 2 hours of patchwork stitches wasn 9t enough from a cnormal d birth, we learned that life flight was on their way to take Taylor to the University of Utah to have a tube put in her chest. We were fortunate that she was breathing on her own and stabilized before she ever left Rock Springs, but they wanted to take precautionary measures.

I was kept in the hospital an ex tra day for an infection along with an allergic reaction to medication and we were finally able to be reunited with Taylor on July 4 th . Although she was doing great by then, they kept her until July 8 th to treat her infection through IV antibiotics. We spent every waking hour at the hospital in Salt Lake after hitting the ground running so to speak.

Taylor is a great baby and rarely cries although day and night have often been confused. Our little mirac le and I both share the same birthday and we are blessed in so many ways. Thanks to all of our family and friends for their support and prayers.

Joe, Laurie & Taylor Stacy Jo Johnson and Kyle Berger were married on June 19th, 2009 at Harvest Christian Center.
