Goodmark is the quality name you can rely on to bring you the best reproduction sheetmetal and trim for classic cars and trucks. We strive to produce the best reproduction parts available, at an affordable price. Follow us as we look at the steps required to make reproduction sheetmetal parts for musclecars.

First, we get an idea to make a part from our vast knowledge of musclecars and classic trucks. We then determine what parts we feel will sell well and are good to market. Some vehicles are just not popular enough to justify the expense of tooling, manufacturing, shipping, storing, and selling parts for a select few vehicles.

Just because a model is rare and desirable doesn't mean that it's pro-table to make parts for it! We then look to -nd either NOS or good used panels off a salvage car to use as prototypes. Most of the OE tooling for these parts was scrapped long ago, and using modern manufacturing techniques, we can offer a better quality panel at a more affordable price if we just retool from scratch rather than using old, worn-out OE tooling.

The samples are sent to our manufac- turers overseas who then use CADCAM software to ... more. less.

scan the part and create com- puter generated images of the parts. New tooling is created using a lost foam process. This duplicates the factory part exactly by using the same dimensions as the sample part.

By using laser cutters and other modern equipment, we are able to duplicate fac- tory holes and cuts without the use of ex- pensive trim dies which drive up the cost of the part. Next, the new tooling is used to stamp out sample parts, and the samples are tested along with the original parts in jigs to check for -t and then sent back to Goodmark for test -tting and evaluation. When Goodmark approves production of the panel, then they are stamped and shipped to our warehouses.

Goodmark has over 100,000 square feet of warehouse space in 2 locations to stock the parts we offer. We also have a world- wide network of Authorized Distributors who stock our parts. You're never far away from Goodmark parts!

Many of our parts are available in 2 versions, a partial patch panel, and a full factory replacement style panel. Although bot h will usually repair the same damage, there are different things to consider when trying to choose between the two. When repairing heavy collision damage, the best panel to get is the factory replacement panel.

On quarters or fenders, usually a patch won't repair the structure and inner bracing that is usually damaged in a collision. If factory replacement panels are not available for your application, you will want to try to -nd good used factory sheetmetal that perhaps needs repair with a patch panel. Another point to consider is that when replacing with factory panels, you weld at the factory seams, or bolt on the panel at th e factory points, and no other welding or -nishing is required.

With patch panels, you will have to -nish the seams which will translate into more cash required to achieve the s ame -nish. Although the initial cost is higher, usually the cost of replacing a factory panel will save you money in the end. All of our front fenders include the inner bracing and are complete bolt-on assemblies, not just the outer skin.

Lower rear pa tch panels patch the outer skin only. Holes may have to be punched for emblems, moldings, or trim not used on all models. Use you r old panel as a guide.

All of our hoods are double panel assemblies, including the inner frame and outer skin welded together with factory dimension n uts to attach to the hinges. Again, no sides or underhood to -nish as you do with -berglass parts. Our hoods will last the life o f the car with proper care.

Our Door Shells are complete bolt-on assemblies, with complete inner structure and outer skin included. You will have to swap your vent windows, door latches, door remotes, and window regulator assemblies and parts from your old door onto our new one. In most popu- lar models, all new parts are available to completely replace all the parts in the door.

Goodmark's Factory Style Quarter Panels all feature a full sail panel to the roof, door jamb pillar (if used originally), and extend to the trunk opening and wrap around the tail panel just like a factory part. Usually weatherstrip gutters will need to be added because they were not part of the quarter originally. Our Trunk Lids are full double-wall construction with full inner frame and outer skin spot- welded together.

No pin-on cheezy -berglass panels here! Our factory style .oors extend to all the factory seams, and feature the correct bracing welded underneath. We also have a selection of inner rockers, outer rockers, and bucket seat mounting brackets to help you in your .oor restoration.

Forget trying to weld together multiple patches to -x your rusty .oor - we have the ultimate solution!
