23 November 2009 By: Bogdan Popa Citroen Revolte in Production, Sold as DS2 French carmaker Citroen is reportedly studying the possibility to push the Revolte concept unveiled in Frankfurt in production. In case this scenario proves to be true, the car will most likely be sold as DS2, which means it will represent Citroen's entry-level model for the revived DS range. According to leftlanenews.com, the car will share a lot of parts with the concept model but also with the all-new C3 model.
However, some of the concept's features will stay away from the production flavor as the company is trying to make it more affordable for the current recession-hit market. The DS2 engine lineup will comprise several tweaked engines, optimized for reduced fuel consumption and emissions. Three-cylinder gasoline units will be available as well plus a 1.4-liter HDi diesel unit.
As for the concept, it is 3.68m long, 1.73m wide and 1.35m tall and is powered by a re-chargeable hybrid system that comprises both an electric unit and a small combustion engine.
