CRICOS Provider No: 03020E 39148QLD Diploma of Graphic Design 3 for School Students You might enjoy a career as a graphic designer working at an advertising agency or graphic design house, in a commercial art studio, for a publisher or in public relations or marketing. Develop an in-depth knowledge of design processes, drawing and illustrative techniques, typography, printing, reproduction processes, computer graphics, web design and motion graphics. As a graphic designer you will produce designs and layouts for media such as magazines, newspapers, websites, exhibitions and advertising.

Southbank Tertiary Entrance Program Southbank Institute of Technology (SBIT) offers units within selected diploma programs to school students in Years 11 and 12. This program is known as STEP 3 Southbank Tertiary Entrance Program. STEP students will be offered an on-campus experience at SBIT.

STEP students will be required on campus at SBIT for up to 8 hours on their allocated day. Following Year 12, STEP students will have the opportunity to complete the entire diploma program at SBIT with con rmed entry and credit into the diploma they have been studying. The majority of these diplomas will provide pathways and credit towards university programs.

STEP students will therefore know in Year 11 they have a guaranteed place at SBIT, post senior schooling and have the ability to bypass the QTAC process at the end of Year 12. Are you creative and imaginative? Do you like manipulating images, design and typography? Do you work well in a team? Since STEP forms part of a student 9s high school curriculum, students will be accumulating credit towards their Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) as well as undertaking a diploma qualification. STEP offers students a more affordable option; students pay no tuition fees, only material fees. If a STEP student transitions to university after completing their diploma of choice - it is likely to diminish their HECS fees due to reduced time at university - students will graduate with both a diploma and university quali cation in near to the equivalent time it takes to complete a university award. The pathways developed by SBIT and university partners provide a quality, highly focused learning experience for STEP students. These pathways combine the complementary strengths of both institutions. Entry requirements To be considered as a STEP student, Principal and parent/guardian consent is mandatory. Applications To be considered as a STEP student, you must rstly register and submit an Expression of Interest in STEP. You are able to complete this process online from 31 August 2009. Once your Expression of Interest in STEP Hub has been logged with SBIT and approved by your STEP coordinator and Principal, SBIT will send you an enrolment pack. To be formally accepted as a STEP student, you must enrol and pay online. Online enrolments open on 21 October 2009. Cost STEP students will only be required to pay the material fees associated with the units over Years 11 and 12.
