BLOCKOUTS, CHAMFERS, REVEAL STRIPS, DETAIL STRIPS, FEATURE STRIPS, RUSTICATION STRIPS and MDF STRIPS: (I) Casting Bed Surface: Holding the spray nozzle 2.5 to 3.5 inches away from the target surface, spray ONE (1) even coat of adhesive over the marked-off target area on the CASTING BED. If standing water is present on slab surface at time of application, remove all pooled water with a csqueegee d or blower.

DO NOT cSQUEEGEE d A WET SURFACE TO WHICH ADHESIVE HAS ALREADY BEEN APPLIED. Application of adhesive during moderate to heavy rainfall is not recommended. (ii) Strips: For REVEAL, RUSTICATION, CHAMFER STRIPS, etc.

4 WIDER than ONE INCH: Apply ONE even coat of adhesive to the concrete slab surface and ONE even coat to the strip material. IMPORTANT 4 DO NOT APPLY ADHESIVE TOO THICKLY! For REVEAL, RUSTICATION, CHAMFER STRIPS, etc.

4 ONE INCH or LESS in width: Apply ONE even coat of adhesive to the CONCRETE SLAB surface and DOUBLE COAT the STRIP with two THIN COATS of adhesive. If its raining, apply adhesive to forms, strips or blocks in a protected area. (iii) LET IT DRY!

LET IT DRY! LET IT DRY! Allow the adhesive-coated surfaces to become dry to touch.

When dry, the adhesive should not be csticky d to touch or capable of transfer. Drying time will vary depending upon relative humidity, temperature and moisture levels. (Refer to Step 2 above.) DO NOT FORCE DRY THE ADHESIVE AFTER IT IS APPLIED as its contact properties may be adversely affected.

(iv) Carefully align the form or strip over the appropriate casting bed target area and join the surfaces together. CAUTION! BONDING IS INSTANT.

After the adhesive-coated surfaces have properly dried, bonding will occur on contact on a dry or damp surface. Following surface contact in accordance with these instructions - in either a cdry d or cwet d environment - the bond will generally not be impaired or defeated by subsequent moisture, humidity or standing water that occurs during the following two or three weeks. (v) Surface pressure may be applied to the strip to effect a firmer bond by using a rubber mallet or by using hand or foot pressure.

To increase efficiency, several strips may be sprayed simultaneously. (vi) After surface contact is made, the item bonded to the casting bed surface should feel firm and solid and be free of any movement. In the event that a strip appears to be loose or needs to be re-positioned after it is attached to the slab surface, the entire strip should be removed by inserting a flat scraper or blade under one end and lifting.

BOTH surfaces should be re-sprayed with adhesive and allowed to dry to touch. IMPORTANT: ! SOME STRIP-FORMING MATERIALS SWELL WHEN EXPOSED TO MOISTURE.

USER SHOULD DETERMINE THE EXPANSION CHARACTERISTICS OF THE STRIP MATERIAL BEING USED AND PROVIDE APPROPRIATE GAPS BETWEEN STRIPS. ! FAILURE TO GAP MAY RESULT IN BOWING OR LIFTING OF SECTIONS OF THE FORM OR STRIP.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REPAIR AN AREA OF FAILED ADHESION BY PRYING UP A SINGLE PORTION OF THE STRIP AND SPRAYING ADHESIVE IN BETWEEN THE CONTACT SURFACES . ALWAYS REMOVE AND RE-SPRAY THE ENTIRE STRIP. MILCO / TrusJoist® Forming System Page 6 of 9 PRECAST INSTRUCTION SHEET (vii) Prior to the pouring of the concrete, a LIGHT coating of bond-breaker material may be applied to all exposed strip surfaces to reduce the risk of spalling and other damage to the concrete during lift-up and removal of the strips.

B. ATTACHMENT OF EDGE FORMS, PANEL FORMS AND SIDE PANELS: The MILCO / TrusJoist® Penetration-free Forming System is based upon the use of MILCO Adjust-a-Trak cEdgeTrak d and cCommonTrak d forms 4 re-useable, height-adjustable PVC U-shaped channel tracks with built-in 45-degree chamfers at the base (See MILCO Website for printable diagrams of MILCO 9s EdgeTrak and CommonTrak). (I) With the MILCO / TrusJoist® System, quick installation of edge forms and common forms is made in four easy steps: (1) Adjust-a-Trak EdgeTrak or CommonTrak sections are installed against a chalk line on the casting bed with MILCO Tilt-Up Spray Adhesive.

(2) A 1" x 1½ d - wide spacer of pre-determined height is inserted into the track 9s channel, resting on the bottom surface. The spacers are placed along the Adjust-a-Trak as necessary to support the ends of each length of TrusJoist® LSL panel that will rest on top of the spacer. (3) Following installation of the spacers, 1 c d TrusJoist TimberStrand LSL panel forms of a pre-determined ® ® height are inserted into the Adjust-a-Trak channel and seated on top of the spacers.

(4) For the last step, TrusJoist® TimberStrand® LSL 8" x 8" blocks are installed on 24" centers on the floor of the casting bed along the perimeter edges of the EdgeTrak with MILCO Tilt-Up Spray Adhesive and then cL d- brackets are screwed into place on the block and against the LSL and EdgeTrak to assure sufficient lateral strength. (ii) When calculating panel layout, note that the exterior width of the vertical sidewalls of the MILCO cAdjust-a- Trak d Common-Trak is 1¼ d, including wall thickness. The built-in chamfer extends outwards and upwards ¾ d at a 45 angle at the base of either sidewall.

The TrusJoist LSL panel form is 1 c d wide. N ® (iii) Use only 8" x 8" or larger Weyerhaeuser / TrusJoist TimberStrand LSL blocks in combination with cL d- ® brackets or other suitable lateral-bracing devices. Brackets should be attached to the blocks and edge forms with dry-wall screws or similar devices.

The use of nails should be avoided in order to prevent accidental release of adhesion and to facilitate the re-use or re-positioning of blocks. MILCO strongly recommends against the use of cut lumber for edge form support blocks due to surface irregularities, variations in moisture content and warping. TimberStrand LSL blocks may be re-used multiple times so long as the adhesive contact surface ® is kept clean and flat.

(iv) The LSL blocks should be located along the edge form on minimum 24" centers to assure sufficient lateral strength in order to prevent an coverturn d during pouring. IMPORTANT: ! THE MILCO / TRUSJOIST® cSYSTEM d REQUIRES THE USE OF 8" X 8" OR LARGER TRUSJOIST TIMBERSTRAND LSL BLOCKS FOR ATTACHING EDGE FORMS AND SIDE ® ® PANELS AND OTHER BARRIERS THAT WILL BE SUBJECT TO LATERAL STRESS DURING THE POURING OF CONCRETE IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE USE OF MILCO TILT-UP SPRAY ADHESIVE.

! DO NOT REDUCE THE SIZE OF THE LSL BLOCKS BELOW 8" x 8". !

DO NOT USE ANY OTHER MATERIALS SUCH AS PLYWOOD, CUT LUMBER, MDF, ETC., FOR BLOCKING MATERIAL. MILCO / TrusJoist® Forming System Page 7 of 9 PRECAST INSTRUCTION SHEET (v) Generally follow the application instructions set forth in Section cA d above, EXCEPT THAT TWO (2) COATS OF ADHESIVE SPRAY SHOULD BE APPLIED ON EACH NEW LSL BLOCK for added adhesion due to the presence of lateral stresses against the forms after the concrete pour. A single coat on the casting bed floor surface is sufficient to provide adequate adhesion.

WHENEVER AN LSL BLOCK IS RE-USED AFTER ITS FIRST ATTACHMENT, A SINGLE COAT OF MILCO TILT-UP SPRAY ADHESIVE WILL SUFFICE FOR EACH JOB THEREAFTER. (vi) When spraying the second coat on the LSL block, wait until the first adhesive coat becomes ctacky d, but does not transfer, to apply the second coat of adhesive. Following application of the second adhesive coat, allow the surfaces to become dry to touch.

When cdry d, the adhesive should not be csticky d to touch or capable of transfer. Drying time will vary depending upon relative humidity, temperature and moisture levels. (Refer to Step 2 above.) If expedient, the first coat may be applied hours or even days before the second coat which would be applied at the time of application to the casting bed floor surface.

DO NOT FORCE-DRY THE ADHESIVE AFTER IT IS APPLIED as its contact properties may be adversely affected. STEP 6 - RE-USE, EQUIPMENT STORAGE, MAINTENANCE & SHUT DOWN: A. RE-USE: B.

BETWEEN SEPARATE APPLICATIONS: To extend hose life, DO NOT CLOSE CYLINDER VALVE BETWEEN SEPARATE APPLICATIONS. If the cylinder valve is closed after an application and before depletion of the cylinder contents with the hose still attached, the hose may become clogged with adhesive and need to be replaced. If there is to be a delay between applications, store cylinder with VALVE OPEN (hose pressurized) at an ambient air temperature of between 60ºF (15.5ºC) and 85ºF (29.4ºC).

Use care to avoid cutting or puncturing pressurized delivery hose or loosening hose connections. Place a tag on the applicator notifying users that the hose is pressurized. C.

REPLACEMENT OF AN EMPTY CYLINDER DURING APPLICATION: To replace an empty cylinder during an application, the following procedure is recommended: (I) WEAR SAFETY GOGGLES AND GLOVES at all times. (ii) Position full replacement cylinder next to spent cylinder with hose still attached. (iii) Close empty cylinder valve completely.

To avoid seal damage, do not over-tighten. Point spray nozzle / applicator away from people and spray any remaining pressurized material in hose onto waste material or other expendable surface until all pressure is released. (iv) Wearing protective goggles and gloves, slowly loosen the hose fitting from the cylinder outlet.

Remove hose from spent cylinder, taking care to keep the fitting-end pointed upwards to avoid spilling adhesive. IMPORTANT: AT THE END OF EACH DAY: ! TIGHTEN THE APPLICATOR ADJUSTMENT NUT TO PREVENT ACCIDENTAL RELEASE OF ADHESIVE.

! ALWAYS LEAVE THE CYLINDER VALVE OPEN AND THE HOSE AND APPLICATOR PRESSURIZED BETWEEN JOBS TO PREVENT CLOGGING. !

REMOVE NOZZLE AND CLEAN IT AND THE WAND-HEAD MOUNTING SURFACE WITH 3M" ADHESIVE REMOVER CITRUS BASE AND A WIRE BRUSH. PLACE NOZZLE BACK ON WAND AFTER CLEANING AND TIGHTEN. !

KEEP CYLINDER, PRESSURIZED HOSE AND SPRAY APPLICATOR AT A TEMPERATURE OF AT LEAST 60 OVERNIGHT. " MILCO / TrusJoist® Forming System Page 8 of 9 PRECAST INSTRUCTION SHEET (v) Immediately connect hose fitting to the full cylinder outlet and tighten. Slowly open the new cylinder valve to pressurize the hose with adhesive.

Open the cylinder valve fully, then close 1/4 to ½ turn. Recharge the hose with adhesive material by pointing the spray nozzle / applicator away from people and spraying a short burst onto waste material or other expendable surface until adhesive appears. C.

LONG TERM STORAGE OF HOSE AND SPRAY GUN: For best results, use cylinder contents within 16 months of purchase date. If the hose and spray gun are not going to be used for extended periods of time, clean out the hose and nozzle with 3M" Adhesive Remover Adhesive Citrus Base (...available from your MILCO distributor) before remaining adhesive dries. The tip can also be cleaned with masking tape or a small wire brush before the adhesive is completely dried.

Follow nozzle manufacturer 9s cleaning and storage instructions. Hose may need to be replaced for next application if an excessive amount of adhesive residue remains inside. CAUTION: When using solvents, extinguish all ignition sources and follow the manufacturer 9s precautions and directions for use.

STEP 7 - DETACHING STRIPS & FORMS FROM FLOOR SURFACE: After the panel is poured, detach strips and forms from floor surface by inserting a flat scraper or blade under one end and lifting. Take care not to scratch the floor surface. STEP 8 - RESIDUE REMOVAL: When MILCO Spray Adhesive is applied directly to a casting bed surface, adhesive residue remaining on the casting bed after tilt-up may be cleaned up with a wire brush or 3M" Adhesive Remover Citrus Base, which is available from your MILCO distributor.

Allow at least 2 HOURS for the Adhesive Remover to flash off solvent content before applying MILCO Spray Adhesive. TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS: ? cBUBBLES d APPEAR ON SPRAYED SURFACES: This condition may result if proper spraying distance has not been maintained (at least 2.5 inches) or if adhesive product has been allowed to cdry d or otherwise partially solidify within the delivery hose or the applicator, or if the nozzle has become partially plugged.

SOLUTION: (1) Take care to maintain proper spraying distance (2.5 to 3.5 inches) during application; (2) Clean delivery hose and/or nozzle with 3M" Adhesive Remover Citrus Base (available from your MILCO distributor) or replace if necessary; (3) Remove adhesive from cbubbled d area with 3M" Adhesive Remover Citrus Base and re-spray.
