RemoMail User Manual Product Description Screenshots Using the application RemoMail is a GET IT NOW based mobile phone application that allows users to access email. RemoMail securely accesses email stored on most Internet-accessible IMAP4/POP3 mail servers. Email addresses from native phonebook can be accessed directly from RemoMail.

RemoMail Features " Access to existing corporate and personal email accounts. " Supports IMAP4 & POP3, Hotmail®, Yahoo® and more service providers. " Supports Microsoft Exchange®, Lotus Domino® and other IMAP4/POP3 compliant mail servers.

On Get it Now, Select RemoMail and launch the application. At the Select Language screen, choose the language English / Spanish . 2.

Now RemoMail connects and shows the list of pre-configured provider list such as Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail, Netzero, Juno, Comcast and AOL (on RemoMail versions 1.4 and more&) 3. If the preferred provider is not list, select More option to see the additional providers. 4.

To configure an account with one of the provider, select the provider. It asks for user name . Enter the userid.

To configure through more providers, user must know the userid, password, incoming mail server name, incoming mail server listening port and type of the server (POP/ IMAP).<br><br> To configure a POP account choose Other POP. To conjure an IMAP account, choose Other IMAP. These are a few additional steps for cOTHER POP d or cOTHER IMAP d email accounts: a.<br><br> Enter the Email Address for the email account and press the OK key. b. Enter your Incoming Server.<br><br> Consult your Email service provider to obtain the correct address. c. Enable Incoming SSL, Incoming Port Number, Outgoing server, Enable Outgoing SSL, Outgoing Port Number 6.<br><br> To configure additional account, choose Account Setup, select Add. It shows the provider list . Additional support, frequently asked questions, tutorials and troubleshooting guides are available on www.remoba.com and choose Products >> RemoMail .<br><br> Email support is available at mailto:support@remoba.com RemoMail uses the following keys to perform the functions: " Power/End Key (usually red) " Numbers 0-9 " Up, Down, Left, Right Keys (Arrow keys) " Back Key " Select/OK Key " Asterisk (*) Key " Pound (#) Key Entering Capital Characters Since passwords are almost always case-sensitive, it is important to be able to switch between upper and lower case when entering text in your phone. The method of switching case varies from phone to phone, but most phones now use the asterisk (*) key to toggle between cases. Entering Special Characters For additional characters, such as an underscore; Navigate to LSK Multitap Symbols Up/Down keys, Select the appropriate number key to enter the symbol e.g.<br><br> 7 selects 8_ 9 symbol. Enabling SSL for Incoming and Outgoing emails Navigate to Main Menu Account Setup Edit .<br><br> Select Account menu and then select the account which is to be SSL enabled. Press the Down arrow key to navigate down through the options, Choose Incoming Server and then press OK , 2. Disabling SSL for Incoming and Outgoing emails Navigate to Accounts Menu Account Setup Edit Incoming server.<br><br> Press the Down key twice to highlight SSL enabled, and press the OK key, SSL will be disabled. Press Back RSK Done RSK, Select Outgoing Server. Navigate to Enable SSL through the options using Down arrow key and press OK .<br><br> The SSL will be disabled. Selecting a Default Account To set an Email Account as Default select cset Default d option. Delete an existing Account To delete an existing Email Account select Delete from cSelect Account d menu.<br><br> Rename an Existing Account To rename an existing Email Account select Rename from cSelect Account d option. Reply Email Address Format (For Other POP and IMAP) The Reply email Address will be same as your email address in the account settings. Entering a Custom Signature Navigate to Account Setup Edit OK Navigate to Signature, press the OK key.<br><br> Enter the information you wish to display in the signature fields. Use the Up/Down keys to change fields. When complete, press the OK key to save the information.<br><br> Entering Password Since passwords are case sensitive, it is important to be able to switch between upper and lower, case when entering text in your phone. Replying to an Email Message To reply an existing Email Account, select Reply or Reply All option. Entering & Customizing Quick Messages While editing the body of the mail, press LSK and select c Quick Message d to view the Quick Message list.<br><br> To customize an existing Quick Message, highlight the message you wish to modify, press Options LSK . To create a new Quick Message, select c Add d from the Quick Messages options menu. To delete a Quick Message, simply highlight the message you wish to erase and select c Delete d.<br><br> Forwarding an Email Message After you have selected and read the Email you wish to forward, press the Option LSK and select c Forward d Deleting Email To delete the highlighted email, press Options LSK and select c Mark to Delete d . Composing and Sending New Emails From the Main Menu select cCompose Mail d, to compose & send mails. Other Main Menu Options Drafts You can save your composed mails in the Drafts folder for future use.<br><br> Outbox The mails, which are not sent, will be saved in the Outbox. The other options in Outbox are: " Resend " Delete " Delete All Help Help contains information About RemoMail, Quick messages, Composing mails, Outbox, Receiving Mails, Saving to Drafts and Account Setup. Logging Out The recommended method to log out of POP3 mail server is to press the Back button until you arrive at the Main Menu and select c Exit d.<br><br> You can also logout from the POP mail server by pressing the End key, but this may prevent you from re-connecting to your POP3 mail server for several minutes until it times out. Error Messages If you fail to log on to an account, then the 8Login failed 9 error message will appear (Fig.12-1). This message will be flashed when either the entered password is wrong or the email ID is incorrect or the email account service is discontinued by the provider.<br><br> The Login failed message will also be flashed when the account you are logging into is simultaneously being used by another email client (For example Outlook or outlook express) in case of POP accounts only. The 8Failed 9 error message appears when the action fails due to some network failures. If your Mobile device memory is completely used then cNo Memory d message is flashed.<br><br> Delete some of the files and free the mobile memory and then use the application. What is RemoMail?<br><br> RemoMail is a GET IT NOW-based mobile phone application that allows users to access Emails on their mobile phones. The Email component of RemoMail securely accesses Email stored on most Internet- accessible IMAP4/POP3 mail servers. 2.<br><br> Why do I need RemoMail? Remo Mail is a service that enables you to access your business & personal mail on your mobile phone. At times when you are away from office or home and you do not have access to internet, even then you can access your mails anytime, anywhere using RemoMail.<br><br> You can configure up to 7 email accounts (Both IMAP and POP included). 3. How can I purchase RemoMail?<br><br> 1. Navigate to the GET IT NOW Apps. 2.<br><br> Select the Mobile Shop. 3. Navigate to Catalog.<br><br> 4. Select Mobile Office from the catalog. 5.<br><br> Select RemoMail (Mobile Office) from the list to download the application. If you cannot find RemoMail on the menu, logon to www.remoba.com . Click on the link provided for Tata Teleservices Customers.<br><br> Check for the application availability on your phone model. 4. How to set up an account?<br><br> You will have to configure your account settings the first time by providing relevant account information for example, User Id, password, incoming and outgoing server address. To setup an account follow the 4 easy steps: " When RemoMail icon is displayed, press OK. The 'Select Providers' screen will be displayed.<br><br> " Select your service provider from the list and Press OK. If your service provider is not in the list, go for 'More' option and select a service provider from the next list Or you can Select 'Other POP' or 'Other IMAP' option and set your own account. For setting up your own account, you will have to enter the User ID, Password, email address, Incoming and Outgoing Servers and the Port.<br><br> You can also enable SSL (Secure Socket Layer) for secure mail transfer. " Enter the User ID and Password. " Press OK and the connection will be established.<br><br> If you want to setup another account, go to Account Setup and select 'Add' Option and repeat the above steps. 5. I have the same settings configured in my PC too.<br><br> What will happen if I download mails from my phone? If you download mails from your phone, the mails will be still on the server and you will be able to access them from your PC. But if you have purged it will be deleted permanently.<br><br> 6. How different is RemoMail from other mail services? RemoMail is quite similar to any other mail services.<br><br> RemoMail downloads mails to inbox, facilitates to compose mails and send mails and saves. RemoMail also helps you to save the composed mails in the 'Drafts Folder' to send it in future. 7.<br><br> I have customized folders in my email account. Can I view them on Phone? You can view your customized folders in your email account, by setting your account as an IMAP account.<br><br> (For that, Select 'More' Option in the Account Setup, Select 'Other IMAP' option and enter the required information). 8. Why does a mail permanently deleted on a mobile not get deleted from the Net Account?<br><br> This is particular to Gmail, yahoo.com and yahoo.co.in Accounts. To avoid this, one has to go to Gmail settings forwarding & POP enable POP for all mail delete Gmail 9s copy. Unless this is done, Gmail continues to save a copy of the mail in the inbox even after deletion.<br><br> 9. Why are mails sent from the Net Account included in the Mobile Account? This is particular to Gmail, yahoo.com and yahoo.co.in Accounts.<br><br> Since Gmail stores each mail as a conversation between sender and receiver. Appropriate settings on your Gmail account should take care of this. 10.<br><br> What are quick messages? Keying in messages through the mobile phone is a tedious process. RemoMail 9s cQuick Messages d helps you to use the commonly used messages without manually entering them each time.<br><br> RemoMail offers an option to customize the quick messages by adding the commonly used messages to the Quick Message List by using the 'Add' option in 'Quick Messages'. You can edit them or delete them. 11.<br><br> Can I send / View attachments when I compose / View mails? Currently you cannot send or view attachments when you compose / View mails with attachments. We will inform you as soon as it is implemented.<br><br> 12. What are the limitations of RemoMail? By using RemoMail you will not be able to read or send attachments.<br><br> Another limitation is that you will not be able to read more than 100 lines from a downloaded mail and you will not be able to compose a mail more than 510 characters. 13. How much does RemoMail Cost?<br><br> RemoMail comes with One day free Demo. On purchasing, it will cost either $1.59 or $1.79. The price may vary depending on the carrier.<br><br> Troubleshooting 1. I get a max limit reached message when I try to save a Quick message? RemoMail can store up to a maximum of 50 quick messages based on your phone 9s capacity.<br><br> If your have stored more than 50, which is the permitted number of Quick messages, then RemoMail shows this warning message. Resolution: Delete unwanted quick messages before attempting to add a new Quick message. 2.<br><br> I get a cNo Memory d error when I try to do any operation on RemoMail? This happens if the Mobile phone you are using has free space of less than 15 KB or if you have reached the maximum number of files that can be created on your mobile phone. Resolution: Delete unwanted applications and clear some old email messages that may be present in your outbox or other folders and try again 3.<br><br> I get an cInvalid email id d when I try to login? This happens if you have entered wrong user credentials for your email account. Resolution: Please check the user name and password again before attempting to connect again.<br><br> 4. I am composing a new mail but I get a cMaximum 10 email IDs d message when I try to enter mail ids in the To, Cc or Bcc fields RemoMail supports only a maximum of 10 email ids that can be entered into each of the To, Cc or Bcc fields. Resolution: Do not attempt to add more than 10 email ids to the To, Cc or Bcc fields.<br><br> 5. I get a cServer busy d error when I try to connect using RemoMail. When you try to connect to your mail server, RemoMail attempts to connect to the mail server for up to 90 seconds and if still it does not receive a response from the server it throws a cServer Busy d error.<br><br> This happens if there is a lot of traffic to the Mail server and a lot of people are trying to connect to the server. Resolution: Please wait for sometime before attempting to connect again. 6.<br><br> I get a cAddress Book Full d warning when I use the cSave Info d option on RemoMail This happens if the phone book on your mobile phone is full and there is no room to store another phone number on it. Resolution: Remove some unwanted phone numbers and names from the phone book, which will free some space on the phonebook. 7.<br><br> RemoMail displays cOutbox Full cor cDrafts full d message when attempting to save a message to the Drafts folder If the number of Mail messages in your Drafts folder or Outbox reaches the maximum limit of 5 (in case of LG 5235, Pantech 711 or Kyocera) and 10 (for LG 6335 and Samsung S-magic) then RemoMail throws the above warning. Resolution: Delete some unwanted messages from Outbox or Drafts folder before attempting to save a new message into the Drafts folder or Outbox. 8.<br><br> I am using my IMAP account and when I am navigating through the folders present on my IMAP account, I get a warning 3 cMax. Folder Level d Keeping in mind the navigation and memory issues on the Mobile devices, RemoMail has set a limit of 9 on the number of levels of a folder that can be displayed. If your IMAP folder has a folder (child folder) within a folder (parent folder) and so on till the 9 th level, then RemoMail does not allow you to navigate to a folder beyond the 9 th level.<br><br> Resolution: You can navigate back to the parent folder or log onto your mail account using a web browser and view that folder. 9. I get a cLogin Fail d message when I try to log into my mail account .<br><br> You will get this message if the user credentials that you are using to Log into your account are incorrect. Resolution: Please check your username and password properly and attempt to connect again. 10.<br><br> I get a cNo email id d message when I try to log into my mail account . You will get this message if the Mail that you are sending has no mail id in the To, Cc or the Bcc fields. RemoMail has to have at least one receiver mail id for the send option to work.<br><br> Resolution: Enter at least one email id in the To field and then press cSend d to send the mail. 11. I get a cMax number of accounts d message when I try configure a new email account on RemoMail You will get this message if the number of mail accounts that you have configured has reached 5 (in case of LGE VX4700, Motorola V260 or VX6100) and 7 (for VX8100 and Samsung A950).<br><br> In general all LE versions will have a limit of 5 accounts and HE accounts will have a limit of 7 accounts. This is based on the memory available on the device.
